Workspaces & Projects
WaitlistPilot uses a two-tier hierarchy to organize your data: Workspaces and Projects.
Workspaces
A Workspace is the top-level container for your account. When you sign up for WaitlistPilot, a personal workspace is created for you automatically.
What lives in a Workspace?
- Billing & Plans: Your subscription (Free, Pro, Premium) applies to the entire workspace. Usage limits are aggregated across all projects in the workspace.
- Global Settings: Defaults for branding, timezones, and notifications.
- Workspace Webhooks: You can configure webhooks that listen to events from all projects in your workspace (useful for agencies or central CRMs).
Projects
A Project represents a distinct waitlist campaign. For example, if you are launching a "Mobile App" and a "Web Dashboard" separately, you would create two projects.
Project Isolation
Each project is isolated from others:
- Unique Signups: A user signing up for Project A does not automatically join Project B.
- Separate Queues: Leaderboards and queue positions are calculated per-project.
- Distinct URLs: Each project gets its own subdomain (e.g.,
my-app.waitlistpilot.com) or custom domain. - Project Webhooks: You can set specific webhooks that only fire for events in that single project.
Custom Domains
By default, every project gets a free subdomain (e.g., your-project.waitlistpilot.com). However, for better branding, you can attach a Custom Domain (e.g., waitlist.yourdomain.com).
Custom domains are available on the Pro and Premium plans. When you add a custom domain, we automatically provision an SSL certificate for it.
